Meghan McCain Achieves Celebrity Status

After receiving $4,600 in donations from Paris Hilton’s parents, John McCain publicly denounced their daughters image in one of his ads. However, this move hasn’t stopped Meghan McCain’s push to enter the Hollywood celebrity circle.

Last month Meghan McCain had her hair done by Jane Fonda’s stylist, Mathew Shields at WeHo Hair Salon. This month she was spotted with Heidi Montag doing lunch followed by another cut with Mathew Shields, and color by celebrity colorist Negin Zand. Negin Zand is known for her work with Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cate Blanchett (among others).

We all know Meghan has the buying power to hang out at the posh Salon’s and trendy lunch spots, but does her image fit the bill? Regardless, she is seizing the moment and trying to get in with the cool kids now that her dad is commanding presidential attention.

Beyonce Lightened by L’Oreal

L’Oreal is stirring up a lot of controversy over an ad featuring Beyonce Knowles with Strawberry Blonde highlights and a pale complexion.

Beyonce Knowles has a 5 year, $2.3 million contract with L’Oreal for which she has to work just 10 days a year to maintain. If L’Orreal extends the length of time required for her photoshoots they must pay her $12,500 a day in over time.

All was well and good until the most recent campaign came out with Beyonce appearing severly “whitewashed”. It’s a well known fact that all magazine and ad photography is photoshopped to fix irregularities and blemishes. The L’Oreal campaign went a little overboard in post production, removing the pigment from Beyonce’s skin, to the point of altering her ethnicity.

Beyonce’s spokesman declined to comment on the situation and Elle magazine, which first ran the ad, announced it would investigate.

Katie Holmes Pixie Cut

Katie Holmes sent waves of commotion through the Hollywood Gossip channels last year when she chopped off her locks to sport a tiny bob. There were several mixed reactions on her decision but overall I think it was a good look for her.

This year she is stirring up a commotion again with what is being dubbed as a “pixie cut”. The pixie cut consists of short bangs and a long neck line, similar to what Rhianna’s do, only a bit more conservative.

Katie Holmes is preparing for her role in the upcoming television series “All My Sons”, which previews on September 18th. Perhaps the new style will fill help her fill the role she is cast for. She is definitely looking more mommy.
