Secret Life Ridiculous Ratings

“Secret Life of the American Teenager” has just become the highest-rated series EVER on ABC’s network television. Reality TV, which was brought to the mainstream in 1993 with MTV’s “Real World”, has long been America’s guilty pleasure. However, reality TV has always carried with it the stigma that the events portrayed are often calculated, coreographed, and altered to provide a better plot.
Pseudo-reality shows like “O.C.”, “Entourage”, the new 90210 and now “Secret Life of the American Teenager” are these shows have the ratings and following to prove it.
“Secret Life of the American Teenager” which airs Tuesdays at 8pm (Western Time) — is produced by the makers of “7th Heaven”. Rival Hollywood hit “Gossip Girl” had it’s average ratings trounced last week when Secret Life brought in over 3.6 million viewers in a single episode.
